In this multi-part series, professional paintball player Nick Leival introduces the Bunker Rating System - a practical way to evaluate and understand the bunkers on any field. Instead of treating every obstacle as the same, Nick teaches you how to see bunkers as tools, each with different strengths and weaknesses that can completely change the flow of a game. You’ll start by learning the foundation of the system:

Defense – how much space and survivability a bunker provides.

Offense – how many options and angles you have to shoot from.

Application – how these ratings help you make smarter choices in both full-field play and one-on-one battles.

From there, Nick takes a closer look at specific bunkers:

The brick/wing, a versatile offensive powerhouse with multiple creative options.

The mini brick with nipple, one of the most impactful modern layouts, offering unique angles and advantages.

By the end of this course, you’ll have a mental framework you can apply to every field layout, helping you identify strong vs. weak bunkers, force opponents into poor positions, and consistently put yourself in spots that win games. This isn’t just about mechanics - it’s about paintball IQ and developing the decision-making that separates elite players from the rest.
